Frisco’s own Tejasvi Manoj, a junior at Lebanon Trail High School, has just been named TIME’s 2025 Kid of the Year—and we couldn’t be prouder! After her grandfather was nearly scammed online, Tejasvi sprang into action, creating Shield Seniors, a website that helps older adults spot and report cyber fraud with confidence and ease. Her tech-savvy compassion is making waves nationwide, and it all started right here in our community!
Frisco is showing up big-time for one of its sweetest icons — Mary Mathis Sanchez, our beloved Snow Cone Lady! After Mary suffered strokes just as her legendary stand was set to reopen, the community rallied to keep her legacy alive, scooping up icy treats and warm memories to help cover her medical bills. Her recipe might be a secret, but the love she’s poured into Frisco for over 40 summers is anything but! (Don’t miss the benefit concert at Frisco Rail Yard on Sept 28th!)
Our friends over at PGA of America are inducting six legends into its 2025 Hall of Fame—and the ceremony is happening right here at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort on November 5. Among the honorees are LPGA icon Nancy Lopez and local golf hero Ronny Glanton, whose decades of dedication helped bring the PGA to Frisco and inspired thousands of young golfers.
