Top 5 Things to Do This Weekend

🎶Live After 5 at Kaleidoscope Park is your weeknight escape with soulful sounds and good vibes under the open sky. Whether it’s a solo serenade or a dynamic duo, the Community Stage is where your week finds its rhythm.

🎨Brushes & Bites: Art meets heart on Thursday evening when local masterpieces, smooth tunes, and delicious bites support young patients at Scottish Rite for Children. Come mingle, munch, and make a difference in style!

🏈Game Day at The Star: Touchdown vibes incoming! Game Day at The Star is your all-access pass to tailgate glory—think jumbo games, $5 Miller Lite, Cowboys Cheerleaders, and photo ops that’ll make your Instagram do a victory dance. (And after that exciting win in OT last weekend, we know the fans are fired up!)

FC Dallas vs. Colorado Rapids: Our favorite MLS team takes on the Colorado Rapids this Saturday at 7:30 pm at Toyota Stadium! You can catch it on Apple TV, but attending in person is way more fun.

🍂Shop Local Fall Market: Cozy up to autumn at Kaleidoscope Park’s Fall Market, where warm scents, rustic décor, and artisan goodies turn sweater weather into a shopping spree dream. It’s like a pumpkin spice latte—but for your home. (You probably won’t need a sweater, though. 😅)

The latest whispers and speculations about exciting local developments, from potential new biz openings to upcoming community projects and stories everyone is talking about. If you have scoop, please send our editor a note!

  • Big news for little learners—Frisco ISD just rolled out a full-day, tuition-based pre-K program across 17 campuses, giving 4-year-olds a head start on reading, math, and confidence-building before kindergarten.

  • Frisco’s putting its money where the charm is—allocating $500K to help Rail District businesses bounce back from construction woes and keep the heart of downtown thriving. It’s a boost for local flavor, foot traffic, and small biz resilience. #SaveMain

  • Did you know the Omni PGA Frisco offers day passes so that you can enjoy their 600-acre resort anytime without even booking a room? Dive into one of the four stunning pools (hello, rooftop infinity pool), unwind at the full-service spa, and treat your taste buds at 13 crave-worthy culinary spots. Since summer’s not over ’til Texas says so, you might as well enjoy a daycation.

  • Sports fans, are you curious how our FISD teams are ranking so far this year? Some of our football, tennis, and volleyball teams have a lot to boast about already!

  • In Dallas news… Say it isn’t so! After more than 40 years of swinging thrills, The Conquistador at Six Flags Over Texas has sailed its last voyage. The amusement park has officially retired the ride to make way for a record-breaking dive coaster set to debut in 2026. It’s adiós to a fan favorite—and hola to high-speed history in the making. Evidently, the new coaster will be a “Giga Dive Coaster,” meaning it stands over 300 feet tall. It's expected to break multiple records for Texas and globally.

While You Wait

Maybe you’re in the school carpool line or you’re “waiting for the host to start the meeting” — whatever you’re doing, we have some quick hits for you:

HBD: Patrick Mahomes turned the big 3-0 today. While not a Dallas player, he’s a Texas native and roots for the Mavs, Stars, and Rangers, so Happy Birthday, Pat!

Cheffing: Fans of the Food Network or literally any cooking competition show on TV know Chef Tiffany Derry. But did you know how deeply rooted she is in Dallas?

Rebellion: Punk Noir is headed to the Design District with a 20-course tasting menu, immersive multi-room experience, and rebellious fine dining vibes that flip the script on traditional luxury. Think neon-lit bites, graffiti walls, and a culinary journey that’s anything but ordinary.
