The Chamber of Commerce does a good job rounding up all the info for Denton County and Collin County voters, and they’ll host a candidate forum on April 10th. Be sure your eligible high school seniors or Calexit neighbors are registered to vote by this Thursday, April 3rd!
A month or so ago, we sniffed around for any news we could find about Music Street (you know, that sign off the Tollway opposite The Star that has been teasing us with future fun since 2019?). Our digging wasn’t very fruitful - until now! Not only is the long-awaited project back in the spotlight with fresh info and a promise to open soon, but an updated website features a promo video, new 3D renderings, and details that have us dreaming of epic concerts and delicious eats. Despite past delays, we’re assured the vision is still alive and kicking!

Pete and Repeat
We posted this last week, but it warrants another mention. Frisco residents are preparing to vote on the proposed Frisco Center for the Arts Project. Campaign signs claim it "costs nothing, changes everything," highlighting long-term benefits. However, opponents argue that nothing is free and express concerns about the $160 million bond funding and unsecured private funds, potentially putting taxpayers at risk.
Key voices in the debate include retired City Manager George Purefoy, former City Councilwoman and mayoral candidate Shona Sowell, and Councilman Brian Livingston, who are against the project. Among those in favor are Mayor Jeff Cheney and Councilwoman Tammy Meinershagen, who have championed this project.
The Dallas Morning News Editorial Board recently expressed skepticism, noting that despite efforts to limit property tax use, this is a significant commitment for the city, urging voters to be cautious. What do YOU think? Submit a letter to the editor and we’ll publish the responses in a future edition of Frisco FYI (anonymously, unless you tell us otherwise.)
Trending Topics Beyond Frisco
A handful of 🔥hot headlines🔥 and odd stories from elsewhere.
Texas Rangers fans can now choose to live closely to their sports team — in more ways than one — with a new Rangers-themed luxury apartment complex that recently opened in Arlington’s Entertainment District. The complex features 35 team artifacts, 50 custom artworks, and amenities like a swim-up bar + sports viewing lounge. (But Frisco, we have cool stuff, too. Don’t be swayed.)
Unusual brand collaborations are nothing new, especially around April Fool’s Day, so we weren't surprised to hear about a Tic Tac and Dr Pepper partnership. We guarantee that any teenager would jump on Dr. Pepper Tic Tacs without hesitation. Sadly, it seems this dream won't come true anytime soon. Despite any craving for that unique cherry cola-meets-licorice-meets-soap flavor in a 2-calorie Tic Tac, the ad was just a prank. What a shame! Here are some other fantastic Fool’s Day pranks we saw yesterday.
While Titanic - The Exhibition visits Dallas, it seems a fitting time to share this viral post about the epic 1997 romantic disaster film starring Kate and Leo.
“Maturity is realizing that in the film Titanic, Rose decides to throw away a $250 million pendant in memory of an unemployed man she slept with exactly once—a man who never even owned the necklace. She disregards the fact that the explorer who brought her to the wreck had built his entire career around finding that necklace. Yet, she held onto it for decades, on the off chance she’d end up at the wreck site again, only to chuck it into the ocean for no good reason… and croaks in his bed. Then waltzes past her husband in the afterlife to meet up with her three-day fling!
Meanwhile, she conveniently leaves out the part where she let Jack—the “three-day love of her life”—freeze to death because she couldn’t scoot over a bit on the giant door. Oh, and maybe, just maybe, her husband of many years might’ve liked to know she’d been hanging onto a $250 million necklace all that time? How about her granddaughter, who was caring for her? An early retirement fund, anyone? The real villain of Titanic? Ready for it? Not Cal, not even the iceberg—it was Rose. (Still love that movie, though.)”
