Frisco Rumor Mill
The latest whispers and speculations about exciting local developments, from potential new biz openings to upcoming community projects and events everyone is talking about.
Frisco might get a Trader Joe’s by March 2025. Yes, this means Speculoos cookie butter, “Everything but the Leftovers” seasoning, and tiny avocados might be closer to home sooner than you dreamed. All we need now is a Whole Foods and we’ll have the perfect HEB-Trader’s-Whole Food trifecta for loyal grocery goodness.
Thanks for the memories: City Works announced its closing. Yep, after 7 years, The Star’s two-story, multi-patio sports bar and restaurant overlooking Tostito’s Plaza is done-zo. In Frisco, anyway (find them in Ft. Worth and elsewhere in the US). So then, any ideas about who will take over that huge space?
Lake hair, don’t care: Nearby development, The Tribute, with its lake vibes and golf course appeal, will finally get the marina they’ve been discussing for a long while now. Quote to note: “The Tribute is one of the most prominent, high-end residential communities in the area and the new marina is the ultimate companion offering exceptional on-the-water entertainment to the community and their guests,” said Bryan Redmond, CEO for Suntex Marinas.
Top 5 Things to Do This Week in Frisco
🎄🍸 Ladies Night in the Cocktail Lounge: Ladies, unwind and create joyful memories with your gal pals this season at Bottled in Bond Cocktail Parlour. They’re offering half-priced bottles of wine for you and your well-deserving friends. P.S. 🐶🍹🐾 Howliday Happy Hour: Your furry baby deserves holiday fun, too. Dress up your pup and head to Hall Park for a paw-some evening of holiday cheer on the heated patio at Palato Italian Kitchen and Lounge!
🏀❄️ Winter with the Texas Legends: Catch an NBA G-League basketball game this weekend (or in the coming weeks). It’s affordable family fun (or grown-up fun – your choice) with Mavs vibes and lots of Frisco fanfare built right in.
🎄🤠 A Very Country Christmas Concert: We love Bing Crosby, Sinatra, and Mariah, but maybe it’s time to change the channel and go country for an evening. On Friday, December 20 at 6:30 pm, head to the PGA District for a special performance from Raised Right Men, promising a mix of country classics and festive holiday tunes.
🎄👕🎸 Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at Rock & Brews: This party theme never gets old. Maybe it’s because we all love an excuse not to think hard about what we’re going to wear to a party? Grab your tackiest Christmas-wear and head to Rock & Brews for holiday cocktails and live music.

Did you hear…?

…that the Frisco shopping and dining scene is about to get even more exciting with the recent announcement of over 20 new retailers and restaurants set to open at the Fields West development! We’re big fans of not having to drive far to do cool things. We have all the details for you right here! (This is content worthy of sharing, folks. Click, click, click.)
Sports Spotlight
This is a Frisco-not-Frisco deal (because it’s not exactly in Frisco, but Frisco people like it). Have you checked out City Futsal Soccer Park at Austin Ranch? First of all, futsal = so much fun. Sign your kids’ soccer team up during their off-season and enjoy the 5 v. 5, fast-paced momentum that is futsal. Two astroturfed fields are nestled between two very fun indoor/outdoor dog-friendly, live music-pumping restaurants. Think corn hole, giant TVs, friends catching up, and Insta-worthy photo opps. Soccer Saturday just got a whole lot sassier.
Around the Metroplex
Although we’re proud of our Frisco-centric-ness, sometimes we go a little rogue to keep our pulse on cool happenings beyond the city’s border.
Straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie (if you know you know), Grapevine, TX truly lives up to its nickname as the "Christmas Capital of Texas." With over 1,400 festive events packed into 40 days, there's no shortage of holiday cheer. The clock’s ticking to get in on the Christmas magic before it’s gone.
You can hop on Santa's North Pole Express for a magical train ride, catch a dazzling Parade of Lights, or even enjoy a spectacular drone show. Don't miss the chance to skate on the outdoor ice rink or watch a classic Christmas movie at the historic Palace Theater.
