Alien-Chic Takeover, a Giant Mural, a Couple of Raves
⸺Local News and Events + Hot Topics Beyond the Bubble

Welcome back to Frisco FYI, the official newsletter of Lifestyle Frisco!
This week’s edition is packed with unique things to do, a delicious restaurant feature, a small biz spotlight, and the latest lighthearted Frisco news (to keep you honest when you say you know “all the things” happening in town). Let’s get to it!
Top 5 Things to Do This Week
👽Heritage After Dark: Tomorrow night, grab your tin foil hats and head to Club 51, a one-night-only, alien-chic takeover of the Heritage Museum! Inspired by the mystery of Area 51 and Frisco’s new NASA exhibit, you’ll be dancing under blacklights, sipping galactic mocktails, and indulging in out-of-this-world eats!
🎭Broadway Rave: Get ready for a night where your favorite showtunes are remixed into a high-energy dance party! Broadway Rave hits the Grandscape Stage and Lawn on Saturday from 7:30–10:00 p.m., featuring reimagined hits from Wicked, Hamilton, Les Misérables, and more.
🎉Bingo Loco Rave: Yes, we just talked about a rave a second ago. Forgive the redundancy, but we don’t make the events, we just report on them — and this one is too good to pass up! It’s bingo meets DJ-spun music plus confetti and lip sync battles, and so much more - just down the tollway at Legacy Box Garden.
⚽FC Dallas: Saturday night at 7:30, FCD takes on Philadelphia Union at Toyota Stadium! (Don’t forget about that new exclusive Shiner Beer they’ve got now!)
☀️SaturYAY at Kaleidoscope Park: Grab your family and friends to kick off the weekend at Frisco’s newest Instagram-worthy outdoor entertainment space! Come prepared for a free fitness class, a petting zoo, and live music - plus the Frisco Rotary Farmer’s Market!

Frisco Rumor Mill
The latest whispers and speculations about exciting local developments, from potential new biz openings to upcoming community projects and events everyone is talking about. If you have scoop, please send our editor a note!
🐟Tricky Fish Swims Away: Well, that was a short swim — Tricky Fish officially closed its Frisco location at The Star this month. While their oysters and crab bisque made waves, it looks like this fish flopped before it could find deeper waters. (Don’t worry, their Richardson and Fort Worth spots are still afloat!)
Kaleidoscope Park is going to get even better: Did you hear this beautiful space is slated for a $14 million expansion? Expected to be complete by 2028, additions will include a water feature, outdoor video screen, stage, and a 1,100-space parking garage.
🗳️Early Voting (again): We head to the polls one more time for the Special Runoff Election on June 7th to decide City Council Places 2 and 4. ICYMI, it’s a pretty heated debate of late! 🤪Early voting began yesterday and runs through June 3rd. It will only take about 3 minutes of your time.
🎨Holy Mural, Batman: Have you seen what’s happening to the back wall of the Frisco Discovery Center? Adding to Frisco’s ever-growing mural scene, this baby is massive, not only in scope but in beauty! It’s the work of Dallas artist Alec DeJesus — his largest solo mural to date. We can’t wait to track his progress!
Snowbird Cocktail Lounge & Kitchen: Frisco’s Chicest Escape
Tucked into The Star District, Snowbird is where downtown Dallas vibes meet suburban sophistication. Think plush velvet seating, moody lighting, and cocktails that are as photogenic as they are potent. It’s the kind of place where you can sip a lychee martini under a chandelier and pretend you’re in a swanky NYC lounge—without ever leaving 75034.
The menu is a globe-trotting adventure with a Latin American twist. Highlights include: Kimchi Calamari, Wagyu Empanadas, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Roasted Bone Marrow, and Beef Wellington. Read more about Snowbird Cocktail Lounge and Kitchen.
Small Business Spotlight
🍧 The Snow Cone Lady is almost back! Summer in Frisco doesn’t officially start until Mary Mathis — aka the legendary Snow Cone Lady — opens her bright red hut on Elm Street. For over 40 years, Mary has been handcrafting her preservative-free syrups from scratch, drawing lines of loyal fans eager for a taste of her 50+ flavors. Rumor has it she’s prepping to open this week! She’s already mowed the lawn and sprayed for ants, so get ready to cool off with a cup of nostalgia and a whole lot of flavor!
Don’t let construction in the Rail District keep you away! Tell your Waze app to take you to 6427 Elm Street in Frisco, and follow FSCL on social for weather-related closings and what-not.
